-22/09 - The Hillstone Halos has recorded the basic tracks for a new album, that will hopefully be released in early 2007. Pål Angleskår (Minor Majority) has promised us a song for the new one, and we are very excited!!

-13/01- Another great review for "Sunlit" today, 5,1 out of 6 at Avis 1! They are not on the net, so we'll show you the whole thing (if you can understand it):

 

'Når du til daglig er gitarist i band som The Cumshots, Black Debbath og Thulsa Doom, er det sikkert behagelig å roe tempoet en gang iblant. Ole Petter Andreassen er åpenbart av den oppfatning. Sammen med Thulsa-kollega Inge Svege (orgel) og Cumshots-kollega Tommy Reite (bass), samt Rebelettes/Bronco Busters-trommis Anne Liv Tresselt, utgjør han bandet The Hillstone Halos, et lavmælt og svært melodiøst alternativ til sine andre orkestre. Denne gjengen debuterer nå med en aldeles nydelig liten plate, kun åtte sanger lang, men der flere av låtene er deilig lange. Ikke minst gjelder det platens to suverene vinnere, som også er de lengste - tittelkuttet (3) på åtte og et halvt minutt og «62 Places» (7) på syv og et halvt. Sistnevnte er for øvrig skrevet av forfatteren og filmskaperen Morten Hølmebakk Evelid som også er kjent fra et annet band der både Andreassen og Svege spiller, Toledo, og er hentet fra albumet Numbers And Names (2000). Disse to og de fleste andre låtene på dette albumet er sterkt preget av Inge Sveges aldeles nydelige orgel. Han fremkaller stemninger som gjør sammenligninger med band som Spain og Tindersticks naturlige, og Andreassens forsiktige gitarspill blir mer for en slags krydderier å regne, såpass oppmerksomhet som orgelet stjeler. Andreassen har en pen stemme som plasserer seg diskret i landskapet, og han får utsøkt harmonihjelp fra Anne Liv Tresselt i tillegg til at Svege også ligger baki der et sted. Sunlit er en plate der kanskje ikke så mye synes å skje, men er så smakfullt komponert og arrangert at du vet det ligger både hjerte og hjerne til grunn for hver tone. Det er en skjørhet over materialet som kan synes overraskende til å komme fra en skramlegjeng som denne, men det er ikke så forskjellig fra den «on and off»-stilen for eksempel Neil Young er eksponent for. Platen avsluttes med en smakfull versjon av The Cures stemningsbombe «All Cats Are Grey» (8) fra Faith, en låt som kler The Hillstone Halos perfekt til tross for at den skiller seg klart ut fra resten av platen. Det gjenstår bare å tilføye et forsiktig «bravo». Dette er enkelt og greit en nydelig liten plate."
